GEM supplies spare parts to a large mining enterprise in Mongolia. In the spring of 2025, we were lucky enough to visit the mine and personally become familiar with the operation of the machines and the use of spare parts.
At the entrance to the mine, long mountain ranges opened up in front of us, still covered with unmelted snow, and white clouds against the backdrop of the endless land revealed the vast expanses of Mongolia in its entirety. In the distance, mining dump trucks moved steadily one after another - work was in full swing everywhere.
In the repair shop, we saw that some of the replaced friction discs of the FC6A250DPRT gearbox had signs of burning. From a conversation with repair personnel, it turned out that on some cars the gearbox overheats. With the permission and assistance of the mine management, we boarded a mining dump truck and, together with the driver, made a trip to identify the problem on the spot and immediately fix it. We also instructed drivers on the correct use of the retarder, which effectively solved the problem of gearbox overheating.
We also provided recommendations regarding repair shop conditions and special repair tools that help repairers repair machines efficiently.
This trip to the mine allowed us to fully experience the harsh working conditions in the mountainous area. Due to the remote geographical location, both the use of spare parts and repairs here are associated with great inconvenience. In future cooperation, we will strictly control the quality of spare parts in order to reduce the frequency of machine repairs and truly reduce repair costs for the user.
